Discover the wonder of growing your own baskets and plant your own willow garden!

Resilient, fast-growing, and multipurpose, growing basketry willows at any scale can be a highly rewarding process. We find that with proper care, basketry cultivars do well in most US zones, and we supply basketmakers and farmers around the country with high quality nursery stock from our healthy plants here in Wisconsin.

The 40+ varieties of heritage willows on our small specialty farm are grown using organic methods, and as our only crop and sole focus, we are happy to be able to provide some of the highest quality nursery stock on the market.  All of our willows are varieties that have been grown and selected by basketmakers over generations to perform well for basketry, and many are also suitable for uses like living structures, hedgerows, windbreaks, silvopasture, remediation, ornamental purposes, and more.  As a basketmaker-turned-farmer, we know our willows intimately from a basketry lens, and curate all of our grower-selected bundles with diversity, color, and weave-ability in mind.  â€‹

note

Our cuttings are 10-14 inches long and the thickest we can make them, depending on the variety.  Bundles come in reusable 2-gallon foodsafe bags, and each cutting has a clear slype on one side to indicate the planting side on the butt-end. Variety bundles are always oriented all in one direction with the label right-side-up for easy planting orientation.  All packages come with a detailed growing instructions sheet.

With so many new nurseries popping up each year, it can be hard to know what to look for in a good live stake cutting.  Always be sure and ask about cutting size when ordering from a new nursery to ensure you will grow healthy plants with high success rates.
